Comprehensive Eye Examination using Slit Lamp Biomicroscopy

Comprehensive eye examination in EMME Visioncare uses slit lamp biomicroscopy to assess the anterior part of your eyes. This is to detect any eye abnormalities. It is used as a magnifying tool for Ophthalmologists and Optometrists to view different eye structures in detail.

Slit lamp biomicroscopy has different magnifications, intensity of illumination and the types of illumination to view different structures of the eye.

The structures of the eyes in which the slit lamp will be assessing include:

  • Eyelid / eyelashes
  • Tear film
  • Cornea
  • Anterior chamber
  • Conjunctiva
  • Sclera
  • Iris
  • Crystalline lens

Your eye will be assessed by our Optometrist for any eye abnormalities. Below are some of the common eye conditions detected in an eye exmination Singapore clinic.
